• Pfizer completes the rolling review process it began with the European Medicines Agency in October, by submitting a formal application for Conditional Approval of the experimental coronavirus vaccine it is co-developing with BioNTech. Source
• The US exceeds four million coronavirus cases during the month of November – double the amount in October. Source
• Moderna applies for an EUA for its experimental coronavirus vaccine; if approved, the company announced that it could become available in the Us by December 21; the company plans to produce 20 million doses by the end of 2020, and an additional 500 million- 1 billion doses by the end of 2021. • RDIF and India’s Hetero Biopharma announce an agreement for annual production of over 100,000 doses of the Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine in India. Source
• Nature publishes a study reporting that SARS-CoV-2 can enter the brain from the olfactory tract (which goes from the inside of the nose into the brain), a finding that may explain loss of smell and other neurological symptoms of COVID-19. Source
• Russia’s Domodedovo Central City Hospital administers the first doses of the Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine to civilians, as Serbia announces that it may consider joint production of the vaccine. Source
