• OWS announces the five companies likely to have promising vaccine candidates: Moderna, Oxford University/AstraZeneca, Johnson & Johnson (J & J); they have already received US $2.2 billion of government funding to develop their candidates) Merck and Pfizer, The New York Times describes OWS as “…a sprawling, on-the-fly experiment in industrial policy by a Republican administration that has been otherwise dedicated to giving private industry a free hand,” noting that no details on vaccine pricing and IP ownership have been released.
