• SARS-CoV-2 has been found among farmed minks in Denmark, Italy, the Netherlands (where it was first reported in April 2020) Spain, Sweden and the US. Since June, 214 human cases of SARS-CoV-2 in Denmark have been linked to farmed minks, including 12 cases which had a unique combination of mutations (called Cluster 5) which may compromise the effectiveness of coronavirus vaccines. • Italy imposes new restrictions; the country is now divided into three zones, based on the number of cases. Residents of the country’s six regions can only cross their borders to work, seek medical care or for other necessary situations; bars and restaurants will close, as will shops selling non-essential items. • The UK Recovery trial adds an arm that adds aspirin to the standard of care, in the hope that it can prevent the formation of blood clots which can cause complications such as strokes and heart attacks. Source
